Tree Risk Assessment
We have ISA certified Qualified Tree Risk Assessors (TRAQ) on staff and can provide formal documentation of TRAQ reports for your project if that’s needed for the jurisdiction you’re in.

Tree Preservation During Construction
For contractors working on development projects or homeowners building an ADU, protecting trees during construction is a requirement in multiple jurisdictions.
We can provide a formal tree protection plan, give guidance on how to properly set up tree protection zones, and can support the construction project with drawings appropriate for permitting. If needed, we can send a certified arborist out to supervise excavation or use an air spade to evaluate root systems before a project begins.
We work directly with contractors and municipalities as needed to ensure that preservation plans are functional and are followed through.
Tree Surveys or Inventory
We work regularly with property owners, municipalities and development projects that need to understand how many trees are on their properties and to assess tree condition.
Often, a project needs to make some decisions about hazard tree evaluation, which trees might be important to be retained, and which trees may be most important to remove. We create tree inventories, manually tag trees and record their attributes, work with various GPS tagging systems to create tree maps as necessary, and can support evaluation of inventory decisions.
On an individual home site, we can help clients understand which trees are in healthy shape and should be protected, and which are likely candidates for removal. We can customize a tree survey or inventory to address the needs of any individual project, and can make recommendations about which data may be useful to gather to help make decisions.
Disease Evaluation & Diagnostics
We’re experienced in a number of different diagnostics strategies that can help get to the root of issues your tree may be experiencing. We have relationships with diagnostics labs that can assess the condition and makeup of soil or address diagnosis of pest or plant pathogens.
We’ll do a visual evaluation of trees and then make recommendations for follow up diagnostics options, and can tailor the work plan to meet budget and treatment needs.
We work with partners who have advanced diagnostics tools like resistographs or tomography that can give an understanding of the extent of tree decay and support decisions around management.
We look for sustainable and chemical-free solutions whenever possible, but will also refer to selected pesticide treatment options when we think it provides appropriate benefits (like injected treatments for Emerald Ash Borer, a pest that has potential to impact our native ash trees in a very significant way).
