We’re your tree people! At Foster Trees, we care about our people, planet, and our community.  We want to work with you to create solutions that preserve and protect tree canopy in the urban environment while ensuring that your spaces are safe and beautiful. We’re inspired by the habitat that urban environments can create for species large and small, and would love to talk to you about ways to support the ecology of your space.  We’re big fans of growing your own food, and specialize in fruit tree pruning and care.  We’re working toward certification as a Benefit Corporation to lock in our commitments to the communities we support.

The Little Details

Foster Trees is a Portland, Oregon-based full-service tree care company founded by the late Brad Swet, a certified arborist with extensive experience in the tree care industry. Foster Trees started as a small single-person operation and has grown into a multi-crew company.

After Brad’s death in 2019, Nicky (Brad’s partner) and Brad’s parents wanted to keep the dream of Foster Trees alive. Foster Trees has grown steadily since its founding, predominantly through word of mouth from satisfied clients throughout the Portland, Oregon area. Brad’s clients prized his attentiveness, kindness, and true love for trees. We strive to keep Brad’s ethics with us as we move the company forward without him.

We are a small, locally-based company that offers friendly professional services many larger companies do not, and provide each of our clients with personalized care when assisting them with their individual needs. We have a sincere passion for working with trees, and part of our job is to educate clients interested in knowing more about the best ways to care for their trees and when and where removal is the best option. We provide clients with accurate assessments and are happy to take the extra time to be sure our customers understand the science and reasoning behind our recommendations when providing estimates.

We’re hoping to become Portland’s first certified B-Corp tree service!  Benefit Corporations showcase their commitments to the greater community by providing transparency around operations, committing to being thoughtful about impacts on the ecosystem, and by caring for and supporting employees.  We would love to share more with you about this process and how we walk the talk.  Follow us on Instagram for more updates and look for new additions to the website to come!
